TourCoveredTournament players broke away from the PGA of America in 1968 to run their own circuit, which became the PGA Tour. Since 2007 the season has finished with the FedExCup play-offs rather than a simple money list.

TourCoveredEurope's main circuit began in 1972 as the European Tour and was renamed the DP World Tour in 2022. Its season ranking has long been the route by which European players earn places in the biggest events.
